My wife and I recently enjoyed a fun date night in Waterville, Maine, catching a comedy show on a perfect evening.

As beautiful as Waterville is at night, something was lighting up the square even more brilliantly.

We were awe-struck when we stepped out of Waterville Creates in downtown and stumbled upon a stunning new art installation in Castonguay Square.

According to Waterville Creates, these stunning art installations were created by Skunk Control. They are an art and design collective known for their striking light sculptures that respond to the environment around them.

These kinetic flower light sculptures are called the "Light Sentinels".

This is an immersive experience for all who wander through the square because they open and close.

So as the evening hits and that dark comes, the Sentinels come to life. They cast this beautiful glow that captivates all who can witness them.

Waterville Creates is the reason why these lights can bring us all joy. They foster community spirit and engagement through public art.

The lights are designed to be interactive and encourage visitors alike to wander through the glowing sculptures and experience art in a new, fun, and immersive way. That is exactly what Nelly and I did. We walked through the lights, took photos, and watched as they glowed in the night sky.

The Light Sentinels are waiting to light up your night, so head over to Castonguay Square in Waterville.
