One of the cool ways you can learn more about the 207 is by taking a tour of one of the state's many factories.
According to Only In Your State and Maine Eater, here are five factories you can tour this weekend.
Boothbay Craft Brewery (Boothbay) - They run brewery tours Monday through Saturday at 3 PM. Make sure you get a growler filled while you're there! Find them at 301 Adams Pond Road in Boothbay. Or, call them at 207.633.3411
Thomas Moser Cabinetmakers (Auburn) - Tom Moser started making furniture in 1972. The goal? Making furniture the same way the Shakers had done in the 19th century. They do tours Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., but call ahead -- they're by appointment only. They're at 72 Wright's Landing Rd., Auburn, ME 04210; call 207.784.3332.
Tom's Of Maine (Sanford) - The internationally known toothpaste and personal hygiene company was established in 1970. They're now owned by Colgate-Palmolive, but you can still tour their factory. Find them at 302 Lafayette Center, Kennebunk, ME, 04043. Appointments are required for the tour and can be made by calling 207.985.2944.

Wilbur's Of Maine Chocolate Confections (Freeport) - First, you take the 45 minute long factory tour... THEN, you get to make your own chocolate covered oreos! Tours run daily from 11 AM to 2 PM. Find them at 174 Lower Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032. Call 207.865.4071 for more details.
