Maine Father & 11-Year-Old Daughter Injured in ATV Crash, LifeFlight Called in
A father and his young daughter were injured in an all-terrain-vehicle crash on Thursday.
According to an article published by WGME 13, police responded to calls for help on Thursday in the area of Mayo street in the Maine town of Dover-Foxcroft for reports of an ATV crash.
When police and first responders arrived on the scene, they found that a 43-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter had been involved in an apparent ATV crash. They had reportedly been riding tandem on the wheeler.
WGME is reporting that emergency crews immediately began rendering aid to the victims who were then promptly transported to Mayo hospital on West Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft.
However, due to the extent of her injuries, the 11-year-old girl was subsequently life-flighted from the Mayo hospital to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for advanced treatment of the injuries she had sustained.
At this time, there is no information available as to the condition of the father and the girl. WGME 13 is reporting that at this time, officials with the Maine Warden Service are continuing to investigate the crash and what led to it.
This is a developing story that we will continue to keep updated as more information becomes available to us either from WGME or from crews with the Maine Warden Service.
