Maine Juvenile Arrested & Charged With Murder Following Friday Morning Shooting
According to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman, Shannon Moss, a Maine juvenile has been taken into custody and charged with murder following a Friday morning shooting.
The press release indicates that the Waldo County Sheriff's Office responded to 1108 Littlefield Road in the Maine town of Brooks following reports of a disturbance.
Once officers arrived on scene, they immediately requested the assistance of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit. After State Police detectives arrived, an investigation into a suspicious death began.
It was determined that 49-year-old James Cluney, of Brooks, had been shot and killed earlier Friday morning. Cluney's body was then transported to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
Following the investigation, a Maine juvenile was arrested, charged with the murder, and subsequently transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center in Portland, Maine.
Maine State Police say they will not go into specifics about the relationship between Cluney and the juvenile, though they are saying that they did in fact know each other. Additionally they're saying there is no threat to the public.
