On Friday evening at 10:18 pm, emergency services were called to D&R Campground in China, according to a press release from Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer at the Maine Department of Public Safety.

This was located at 109 Pellerin Road in China.

46-year-old Liza Bragg of Albion had sustained burns while attempting to start a campfire.

Bragg was standing beside the fire while another person was attempting to light it.

Those who were camping with Bragg called 911 and she was rushed to a nearby hospital and then transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland where she later died from her injuries.

This incident is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
