Soldier Dad Surprises Son at Western Maine School

It was quite a nice surprise for 5-year old Landen Pfeffer Friday (Jan. 31) at his elementary school in Bryant Pond, ME. Landen was presented with medals and awards from the American Legion and the Freeport Flag Ladies for his bravery in supporting his father. Corporal Eric Pfeffer is in the army and has served overseas in Afghanistan as a combat medic and at a base in Italy training NATO forces.

In the past 4 years, the corporal has only seen his son a couple of weeks each year. He will now get a month off to spend time with his son before he starts his new assignment with the Maine National Guard.
