Tuesday Morning Standoff Ends in Waldoboro
According to the Village Soup, an apparent standoff between someone in Waldoboro and members of local and state police has come to an end. While details are limited, we now know that State Police Tactical and Crisis teams were on hand supporting the Waldoboro Police Department with a subject who had been barricaded.
We are not currently certain who the suspect is or what their condition may be. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available from local and state authorities.
**Original story follows below**
We've gotten several reports from our listeners this morning that several State Police cars have been seen responding code 3 (lights & siren) out Maine Route 17 towards the Jefferson/Waldoboro/Mid-Coast area.
One listener who reached out via our 'report it' tab at the station website said she saw 11 State Police vehicles, some undercover units and a 'white box truck with blue lights' were headed down 32 from 17 into Jefferson.
At this time we have no additional information from our law enforcement partners but will keep the story updated as information becomes available.
