Maine State Trooper Injured in Collision, Taken to NH Hospital
According to WABI TV 5, a Maine State Trooper was injured Wednesday morning when the cruiser they were sitting in was struck by a passing vehicle.
The Trooper was parked in a northbound construction zone on the Maine and New Hampshire border on the Piscatiqua River Bridge when the crash happened. The trooper's vehicle was struck by a silver F-150 pickup driven by Sean Mcinnis, 31 of Merrimack NH.
The driver of the truck and two other passengers were not injured in the crash according to Maine Public Safety Spokeswoman, Shannon Moss.
The 43-year-old Maine State Trooper, Thomas Welch, was taken to a New Hampshire Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. New Hampshire State Police are investigating the crash.
