These Cool Maine Morning Have Been Great, but Summer Returns This Weekend
It's one of the best times of the year isn't it?
The Windsor Fair has ended, the kids are back in school and pumpkin spice is back on the menu at Dunkin.
Ah yes, the sweet smells and feelings of fall are surely in the air.
Of course, the official beginning of fall isn't until September 22, but we all know it unofficially starts much sooner than that, right? I mean, who hasn't noticed the leaves beginning their vibrant color shift already?
As we settle into fairly consistent weather of cool nights and mornings and daytime temps that barely break 70 degrees, it's easy to assume that summer has truly ended and the cool, crisp days are here to stay.
However, that's not entirely true.
If you were hoping for "summer's last blast" then you are in luck. It appears as though summer will return with a vengeance to Maine and New England this coming weekend, so fuel up the boat, plug in the pool filter, and get some limes for your Corona.
According to the extended forecast from Weather.Gov, which is run by NOAA, it appears as though temperatures will shoot back up just in time for a completely sunny weekend. And we're thrilled about it.
While much of the week will remain moderate with temps barely breaking 70, that all changes on Thursday as the high for central Maine is expected to reach 80 in most places, Weather.gov reported. The weather site also stated that Friday could get even warmer with temperatures in the low-mid 80s under sunny skies.
Heading into the freakin' weekend Saturday should be all sun and 80, according to Weather.gov, and Sunday will be close to the same. So if you were hoping to get one more trip out on the boat or another day laying out on the beach, this weekend may be your last chance!
By Monday of next week, high temps for Central Maine will dip back into the low 70s just in time for the Post Malone show at the Maine Savings Amphitheater, so get out and enjoy while you can!
