Maine Wardens Reminding Mainers to Boat and Swim Safely
There has been a high number of drownings in Maine in a week. There were five drownings in five days. One is too many, and to give you some context, the state of Maine saw deaths 43 in 2020, 32 in 2019, and 34 in 2018, according to centralmaine.com.
The Maine Game Wardens are reminding Mainers and those from away to be safe on Maine's waterways. Despite the warm weather this spring, Maine's waters are still chilly, and if you get into trouble and whether or not you are a strong swimmer, you could be big trouble in colder water. There is also the reminder if you are on a boat, you should have a life jacket. I get it can be a pain, but it literally can save your life. Here are some very helpful tips from the Maine Wardens Service. Just be safe and enjoy your summer in Maine no matter what sort of fun you are enjoying.
