Sugarloaf Hosts 24-Hour Ski Challenge for Maine Kids
The WinterKids Downhill 24 returns to Sugarloaf February 26 and 27 for a one-of-a-kind, around-the-clock celebration of winter, movement, and community.
According to their event page, teams of friends, families, classmates, and coworkers will ski, snowboard, or skin their way through a full 24 hours on the mountain from first chair to midnight laps and early morning turns. Throughout the event, Sugarloaf stays lit as participants share fresh tracks, laughs, and the kind of unforgettable moments that only a Maine winter can deliver.
Organizers explained that now celebrating 25 years, WinterKids has helped children across Maine discover the joy of outdoor winter play. The Downhill 24 brings that mission to life in a big way. Every lap completed during the event supports programs that open the door to winter adventures and outdoor learning opportunities for kids in all 16 Maine counties.
When you register, you’re not just signing up for a challenge, you’re joining a community committed to helping children get outside, stay active, and thrive.
Whether you’re ready to bring your crew and take on the full 24-hour experience or simply want to support a participating team, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Help celebrate 25 years of joyful outdoor learning and play at Sugarloaf.
