He has performed his fun-filled songs for over 35 years, and it has all come to an end. Though you would never have known, Rick Charette and his Bubblegum Band likely played their last show ever earlier this month at St. Joseph's College.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Charette didn't want to make a big deal about the fact that he's not booking anymore shows. He wanted people to remember the music, not his announcing that he's done.

It's reported that 'health challenges' are the primary reason the 'I Love Mud' singer has decided to hang up the guitar. He said that it's a combination between arthritis, a shoulder injury and a 'touch of Parkinson's disease' that are creating difficulty for him on stage.

If you're calling to book Charette, he'll politely tell you to call back in the spring to see if things have improved for him, though he seems fairly confident that they won't.
