Yesterday's (January 11th) unseasonably warm weather caused several Maine cities to tie or break daily temperature records.  National Weather Service officials say that 61 temperature records were either tied or broken in the Northeast.

According to WMTW, yesterday, Augusta tied it's daily high temp of 54 degrees.  That temperature record was set in 1983.

Bangor hit 55 degrees, which broke their old record of 52 set in 1983.

And, in Portland, they had a high of 63 degrees.  This broke the old record of 54, set in 2017.

And, since these warmer-than-normal temperatures stuck with us longer than expected, we basically avoided the ice storm that we all thought we were going to wake up to on Sunday morning.
