You may have noticed that I wasn't on the air towards the end of last week. You might say that I had a couple of 'incidents' that I needed to tend to.

It all started on Wednesday night when I was coming home with Evan, my 15-year-old, from his football practice. It was dark and my wife had gotten home before us and let the dogs out.

Our two golden retrievers love when we come home and often run right up to the vehicle. Our 5-month-old, Skye, hasn't quite learned that she should get out of the way, so we often have to put the window down and yell at her to move as we're pulling in.

As I always do, I put my window down and yelled at the dogs to move so I could park. They both took off toward the garage so I proceeded super-slow. That's when I heard the most heart-wrenching series of 'yelps' ever.

I had run over Skye's front legs and she was pinned under the tire of my truck. I immediately backed up and she ran off limping on one leg. I quickly loaded her up and we rushed to the emergency vet in Lewiston where we learned that NOTHING was broken, just badly bruised. Thank God!

Fast forward to about 4 the next morning and I woke up feeling super anxious and on the verge of a panic attack (I have panic disorder). That panic attack eventually led to a racing heart that flipped into Afib.

I headed to the Maine General emergency room where I learned I was going to need a cardioversion. Dr. Walter Geer and his team got me all ready, knocked me out (with medicine) and shocked me right back into rhythm.

It was a scary experience, but it went incredibly smooth. Now, both Skye and I are resting and recovering, but wow, what a last couple of days.

Thank you so much to everyone that has reached out!
