Michigan Man Plans to Recreate Run from ‘Forrest Gump’

A University of Michigan nuclear engineering graduate is planning a coast-to-coast run over 100 days that's similar to part of one taken by Tom Hanks' character in the movie "Forrest Gump."

Barclay Oudersluys plans to start the 3,200-mile run he's calling "Project Gump" on Saturday (May 9th) from California's Santa Monica Pier en route to Marshall Point Lighthouse in Maine.

Oudersluys tells The Arbor News that "Forrest Gump" is his favorite movie. He also wants to raise $10,000 for the nonprofit Hall STEPS Foundation, which aims to fight global poverty.

His route is set to take him through California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Oudersluys plans to begin law school at University of California, Berkeley, in the fall.

OK..this guy loves 'Forrest Gump', is doing this for charity, is smart and from the photos on his Facebook page he is cute..he is darn near perfect.
