Need Work? Grocery Stores Are Hiring
Over the last week, we've heard (or been a part of) many stories involving hard working Mainers being laid off.
However, not every business is laying off people.
According to the Bangor Daily News, both Hannaford and Shaws are planning to hire hundreds of new employees in the coming days.
These new employees will provide relief to those who have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks to ensure that store shelves remain stocked amid consumers panicked buying.
And, as many of their stores carry grocery items, Walmart intends to hire 150,000 new employees. They are also cutting the hiring cycle from two weeks to 24 hours.
This comes a week after Amazon has announced they intend to hire 100,000 employees.
