Early on the morning of Thursday, November 4th, the body of a young man was found in the yard of a home in Machias, Maine.  The next day, that death was ruled a homicide.  Now, we are learning that a suspect has been arrested in connection with that killing.

According to a press release from the Maine State Police and Maine Department of Public Safety, 23 year old Nathan Genao, of New Bedford, has been arrested and charged with felony murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Brandin Guerrero of Massapequa, New York.

Genao was reported arrested at his home by members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, New Bedford Police Department, and the US Marshals Service Boston.

While police say the alleged killing does appear to be drug related, they have not released any further details.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, at around 12:30 on Thursday morning, law enforcement investigated reports of what sounded like gunfire in the area where the teen was found.  After investigating the area, sheriff's deputies were unable to find any individuals or vehicles that appeared out of place or suspicious.

Later, at just before 8 AM, a resident of High Street in Machias phoned police to report she found a deceased male on her lawn.  The deceased is a 17 year old male from New York.
