It looks like the options for people who like to go out in the Lewiston / Auburn area are expanding.

According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, downtown Lewiston is about to get a new brew pub.

The Rusty Bus Brewing brew pub, which will be owned by Peter and Nicole Ouellette, will be located at 120 Lisbon Street in downtown Lewiston, according to the article.

A four-year-long labor of love, they got a big boost last year when they were awarded funding from JumpStartME, which is an initiative backed by the Downtown Lewiston Association and the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce, according to the Sun Journal.

Once open, they plan to offer great beers, live music, and trivia, the newspaper reported, and they also plan to feature community-focused events like first responder nights.

Peter Ouellette, the company's brewmaster says that he wants to offer about a dozen different brews on tap.  However, they will probably start with about half that amount, the newspaper stated.

According to the Sun Journal article, they plan to offer a combination of several IPA’s, pale ale, lager, and at least one stout.

While they do not plan to make food on-site, the article says they are in talks with several local restaurants to provide food for the brew pub's patrons.

They hope to be open Thursday through Sunday.

While they continue to renovate the space, they are also waiting on needed paperwork from the government, according to the Sun Journal, and currently, they need approval from the Department of Treasury.  After getting those documents, they will need to finalize permits with the state and the city before they can open to the public.

Barring any further red tape, their hope is to be open in time for the 4th of July, the Sun Journal reports.

As we always love seeing new businesses open, we wish them the best in this endeavor.
