Babes, it’s getting spookier then ever out there and I’ve got one heck of a reality check for you because scammers are getting smarter, I’m talking robot genius smart.

So how the heck are we supposed to combat robot geniuses now?

According to an article put out by WGME, these monster scammers are now using artificial intelligence to mimic voices, spoof phone numbers, and create scams that are literally almost impossible to figure out.  

This is literally like something out of a tech horror movie, but it’s actually happening in real life. 

Get this, over 2,000 people in Maine fell victim to these scams last year alone, according to the FTC.

“The goal is to get you under their spell, keep you in their world,” 

And that’s exactly what they’re doing!

Here’s one of the worst AI scams, ever 

AI-controlled voice cloning! They are now impersonating real people, like family members to call you and say they are in trouble.

It’s the "grandparent scam," but on steroids.

Just imagine getting a call from what sounds like your granddaughter crying her eyes out, saying she's hurt or in trouble and is needing money right now. Pretty horrifying if you ask me!

The saddest part of it all? People are falling for it.

How do you protect yourself from robot genius scammers?  

Stick with the normal advice and always make sure to stop and verify right away, as per the article. If someone calls and it's very out of the ordinary, asking for money, don’t just take their word for it. Confirm it's them. 

Hang up, call back, and take a breath. Scammers will always thrive on panic, so don’t give them that satisfaction! Take back your power and if you are ever in doubt, trust your gut.
