While the last year has been really rough for businesses in general, it has been particularly tough for restaurants.  It appears there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Nearly a year after the restaurant closed, life is being breathed into the old Ruby location at the Marketplace at Augusta.

Fans of Mexican food are going to be all about this – Central Maine is getting a new Mexican restaurant.

El Agave’s Mexican Restaurant will soon open in the old Ruby Tuesday’s location at the Marketplace at Augusta.

According to Victor Guzman, owner and general manager, el Agave’s will be a full service Mexican restaurant and bar.  He said some of their specialties include margaritas and fajitas.

They are planning for a mid-April opening.

Once they open, you'll be able to find them at 58 Stephen King Drive in Augusta.

This is not their first restaurant in Maine.  They also have Las Palapas in both Bangor and Brewer.
