Maine’s Northern Light Health to Require COVID Vax For All Staff
On the heels of a similar announcement from Millinocket Hospital, Maine's largest health network, Northern Light Health has announced that they will also be requiring all employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
While that doesn't go into effect just yet, it will as soon as the United States Food & Drug Administration fully approves at least one of the current COVID vaccines that is currently being offered under emergency approval.
According to WABI TV 5, staff will have to get the shot if the want to acquire or maintain their employment with Northern Light Health. Reports indicate that as of right now, about 80% of Northern Light Health employees are fully vaccinated with more expected to receive the shot following the mandate announcement.
President and CEO of Northern Light Health, Tim Dentry, told WABI that 'few exceptions will be made' as the company moves forward with their new COVID vaccine policy. We will continue to update this story as more details become available.
