The Salvation Army knows the need for this holiday season will see an increase over last year. They also see this year will be a little bit different with fewer people in the stores, fewer people carrying cash, and a good year, it can be hard to find enough volunteers to ring the bell.

They are not physical out there yet, but the online Red Kettle, but the online kettle is there and ready to go for you to donate.

The Red Kettle funds are used, along with the physical donations of gifts, to meet the Christmas wishes, but the money is also used to fund the Salvation Army's services all year.

For example, in central Maine, the Capital RegionSalvation Army runs a food bank for Mainers. That is the same food bank that is the recipient of all the food donations from our Camp Out Hunger event in November.

It is called 'Rescue Christmas,' and according to what I was reading at Newcenter, the donations stay in the community they are given in, which is good.

Here is a direct link to get on this…do it now. Central Maine says, thank you.
