I hate the reclining seats on planes and trains. Hey I paid my money for my space. Get that seat out of my space. If the travel industry wants to offer reclining seats then make the distance between the seats so that reclined seat does not affect my space. Recently a United flight from Newark to Denver was diverted after a fight broke out over a reclining seat.

One passenger used Knee Defender to prevent the passenger in front of him from reclining her seat. (Gotta get me one of theses) These are banned by some airlines, like United. The man ignored a flight attendant’s request to remove the device, at which point the woman in front of him stood up and threw a cup of water at him. It got so bad they had to land in Chicago to remove the two feuding passengers.

The thing the guy used, the Knee Defender, is a plastic gadget that clips onto the hinge of an airline seat’s folding tray, preventing the person in front of you from reclining. (Genius!) Cost about $25. Though the FAA hasn’t prohibited the device, several airlines have banned the contraption.

Ban the Knee Defender? How about making seats so they don’t recline? Or making rules so if the person behind you in your reclined seat does not want it the flight attendant can require you to return it to its upright and locked position. How about being considerate of those around you? See how easy it can be solve problems.
