Muscongus Bay is a bay on the coast of Maine between Penobscot Bay and John's Bay. It is also the backdrop for a new low-budget horror flick called, ‘Pod.’

According to the director and screenwriter Mickey Keating:

'Pod' is a horror film built around the escalating tension of a family intervention that quickly spirals more and more out of control. Set in an isolated lake house in the dead of a Maine winter, it's an intense and violent horror film with equal parts paranoid conspiracy theory thriller and 'Twilight Zone' episode. It was shot in the tiny town of Round Pond in Bristol, ME and almost every day, either the crew van or the equipment truck got caught in the snow.

The cabin where the movie was shot is off the Back Shore Road in Round Pond and belongs to the family of William Frank, a producer of the film.

The movie will premiere at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas later this month.
