When it comes to Facebook, it can be a giant time suck and place where drama finds away to breed like rabbits in heat. However, sometimes, it can be used for good. Take for example all of the community groups that Mainers have joined over the years.

These community groups often provide a safe place for residents of particular towns to post questions, seek help or provide updates about goings on in the towns that these pages serve.

As I was scrolling through the endless feed last night when I should have been sleeping, I came across something quite curious. It appears as though a once domestic pig from the town of Readfield, Maine has decided to try and make it on his own in the Maine wilderness.

Additionally, I came across a video that appeared to be filmed and voiced by the wayward pig himself. Using a pig-face AI filter, the pig posted a short video on Facebook on Sunday providing somewhat of an update on what has been happening in recent days.

The pig went on to explain that he just wants to be 'free' and he wishes that area residents would allow him the peace he feels he so deserves. He went on to explain that it's hard out there for a free pig in the Readfield area. He says that there aren't many (or any) other pigs roaming free, so friendships and romantic interests are hard to come by.

Fortunately, thanks to our broad reach in the area, Lizzy and I were able to get the word out to him that we wanted him to call into our show Monday morning on a secure line so that we could do a check in with him and see how his days were spent.

Here's how that went.
