As the world seems to circle back to where we are seeing more COVID cases and being even more careful as we move indoors...the need for blood is still critical in Maine. Surgeries and medical treatments are still ongoing. This year many of blood drives have been canceled.

To stay on track with those treatments and surgeries, they need an ample supply of blood on hand to do that. Give blood. You can save a life! And you get cookies after you donate. That is winning in my book.

As a thank-you for helping meet the need for blood donations now through Dec. 15, Suburban Propane is offering blood, platelet and plasma donors a chance to win an Outdoor Living Experience, powered by Suburban Propane, to enable a lucky winner to enjoy socially distanced celebrations with family and friends this holiday season. The prize includes a propane-powered pizza oven, fire pit, outdoor heater and stipend towards propane.

The American Red Cross says "healthy individuals who are feeling well are asked to make an appointment to donate in the weeks and months ahead by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

The Red Cross says there is only one source of blood and that is a healthy, volunteer donor.  Is that you?  Please help keep the blood supply strong with your donation.

Make an appointment today by visiting RedCrossBlood.org.  Calling 1-800-RED CROSS or downloading the blood donor app. AND remember to bring you ID!

I just want to say thank you.

Click into the link to find the list of upcoming blood drives in the area. Check out the whole state since I have heard the blood drives fill up fast. The weather is nice maybe you would consider a little drive to go to one a little farther from home.  Thanks again!
