92 Moose Request-A-Thon 2024 Recap: How Much Money Was Raised?

It was another amazing year raising money for the incredible athletes at Special Olympics Maine! But just how many years has 92 Moose been doing the Request-a-thon? Several.

Actually, nobody could really figure out how long this event has been happening here in Central Maine. That is until one of our listeners told us. The lovely Erin Fletcher stopped in on Thursday to make a donation and deliver us some wicked-cool 92 Moose Request-a-thon coffee mugs that she made for us.

While she was here, we started talking about how many years this has been going on and we told her we didn't really know. She let us know that it has been 24 years (making Thursday's the 25th annual!)

Erin told us that this event started the year before she and her now-husband Troy started dating. So there we were, in the middle of the show, and we had no idea that we should actually be celebrating 25 years. That's so 'us' isn't it?

Before we get to the grand total we HAVE to thank all the listeners for calling and making pledges to hear their favorite songs. Additionally, thank you so much to Lisa's Restaurant for keeping us fed all day long.

We had so many donations from listeners and businesses alike. Damon's Beverage, Assistance Plus and ESM just to name a few! ESM (Employment Specialists of Maine) was our big sponsor yesterday. Jean Gallant and her team always do such a wonderful job on Request-a-thon day!!

Now, for the big news! With all of your help, you were able to raise a whopping $7,000 for Special Olympics Maine!

We're sad that it's over, but we're already looking so forward to next year's event!
