Serious Waterville Crash Causes Car to Slam Into Medical Office Wednesday
According to a Facebook post from the Waterville Fire-Rescue page, emergency crews were dispatched to reports of a car crash on Kennedy Memorial Drive near Carver Street.
Reports from passers by indicate multiple vehicles were involved and one of the cars crashed, at least partially, into the medical office of Gagnon Chiropractic. It was also reported that the 'jaws of life' were needed to extract one of the drivers.
Additional information obtained indicates that there were 'multiple dogs' inside one of the cars, one of which needed quick transport to an emergency veterinary hospital. Waterville Fire reports that the New England Animal Hospital jumped into help 'without hesitation.
Waterville Fire says in addition to their team, other agencies responded to assist as well including Central Maine Power, Oakland Fire, Waterville Police Department, Ace Tire, Waterville Public Works and 'numerous bystanders' that assisted on scene.
Waterville Fire also went on to thank the Delta Ambulance team that covered a call while both of Waterville's rescue crews were busy working the KMD crash with multiple patients at the scene.
At this time, there is no word on the severity of the injuries sustained by any of the occupants of the vehicles, though we will keep this story updated as more information regarding this crash becomes available.
Additionally, it was unclear if Gagnon Chiropractic's office hours would be effected given the damage to the building. This is something else that we will continue to update as more information regarding the crash is released.
