Sounds We Don’t Hear Anymore

For me, it is the dialing of a rotary phone. I used to love that sound. Remember? My cell phone has a retro feel because it rings like that old rotary phones. However, there are many more sounds we may never hear again.

Some of these are a little more ‘modern’ that the rotary phone dialing, like the sound of dial up or the sound of a VCR rewinding.  A cassette tape rewinding is another one.  I was reading in Parade magazine that the sounds of Windows staring up or the skipping of a cd are sounds we may never hear again.

But, I completely forgot about this, TV station sign offs. Yes,TV stations used to sign of overnight and you had to go to bed or something. Here is one of those sign off announcements.
