First off, I am taking partial credit for the New England Patriots' amazing comeback and eventual victory over the Denver Broncos (Nov. 24) last night.

I'm a pretty loyal fan and very rarely will turn a game off. Last night though, as you know by now, the Pats were trailing 24-0 at half-time. I get up in the morning at 3 a.m., so I figured, "Alright, at least I'll be able to get some sleep." So, I turned the TV off and got ready for bed. By the time I crawled in the sack, I decided I would turn on my little radio with headphones and see what was going on. Well, Tom Brady was driving down the field and just like that, scored their first touchdown.

I though to myself, "Maybe I should get up and go turn the TV back on....but, what if they score again." They did, fairly quickly! I thought, "If I move, I'll ruin the momentum." So, there I stayed in bed, listening to the radio as the Patriots scored 31 unanswered points. No possible way was I getting up, now! The bed is where I stayed, though the TV was about 100 feet away. I finally gave in during OT after the muffed punt by the Broncos gave the Pats a gimme field goal. I figured at this point I wouldn't spoil the victory and I wanted to see the reactions after the amazing comeback.

That's why we are called 'fan'atics!

I remember during the Boston Red Sox World Series run in 2004, during one of the early playoff games between the 6th and 7th inning, I made some popcorn... and they won. Every game the rest of the post season, you guessed it, I cooked up some microwave popcorn and it had to be between the 6th & 7th!

I know it's silly and completely ridiculous, but heck if it works, why not? Do you have any game-time/sports superstitions?
