According to WMTW, Maine State executive branch offices will be closed on Wednesday as part of a National Day of Mourning for former President George H. W. Bush.

In a press release, Governor LePage said, "“President Bush is Maine’s president.  The Bush family’s active participation in the Kennebunkport community has touched many lives.”

The closure will affect non-essential employees.  Schools are not part of the closure.  LePage suggested schools use that time to learn about the life and legacy of President Bush.

Additionally, mail service will be suspended for that day.

President George H. W. Bush passed away on Friday evening at the age of 94.
