Amy Buxton's Underdog Jog Memorial 5K Run/Walk' is an annual event in remembrance of Amy Buxton. She dedicated her life to saving dogs and helping her local community. Her friends and family are dedicated to continuing to support her passions through this annual event.

As I write this, the Patriots' GoFundMe page set up by a fan to help the team pay the one million dollar fine is up to $8,600 in donations.  To me this is ludicrous as there are so many local people and organizations that need help more than Bob Kraft.

I recently heard a story about a man who commutes to work every day on his bike from Lewiston to the Turner Hannaford.That's right, every day no matter the weather, Rich Clark hops on his motorized bicycle and goes on his 15-mile jaunt (one way, 30 miles both). He says you just have to bundle up in cold winter weather. I'd say that is commitment to his job.

Augusta Police Chief, Bob Gregoire, along with his wife, Cathy and Augusta Police Sargent Chris Shaw, were using their day off to help raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. That afternoon, on the way back to Turner, where riders were to gather, the two officers' motorcycles crashed in Jay. Shaw was alone and Gregoire was riding with his wife.

'Love for the Locals' is a monthly event at Lisa's Restaurant & Catering, Bangor Street, Augusta. This month you can support Kristina Goranson and Zachary Marcotte. A month ago they were involved in a head on motorcycle accident due to the negligence and recklessness of another driver.

What a fantastic turnout again this year for the '5th Annual PFBF CPA's Half Marathon & 5K' in Oakland, Maine. This year to benefit Camp Sunshine, who will be celebrating their 30 year anniversary of supporting children with life threatening illnesses and their families.

Gabbie St. Peter and Alice Willette are two George J. Mitchell Elementary School, Waterville, second grade students and best friends.
