Ah, yes, the summer life. It seemed like one minute I was sitting on the deck, pretending to take a chemical reading from a drink with a pool test strip. The next minute, I was downstairs in my office waiting for dinner when I heard a loud crashing sound. At first, I thought it was thunder...and then I heard the call from Marie-Anne: "Jon, come up here, quick!"
Marie-Anne asked me on Thursday if I thought we should take the umbrella on the deck table down. I said, "nahhh, it's suppose to be rainy, not windy."
My first red flag should have been the storm's name...HURRICANE Arthur. The phrase, "nahhh, it's suppose to be rainy not windy" keeps playing back in my mind like an echoy voice from a horror movie.
The thing I love most about being part of the Moose Morning Show is, just like a regular conversation, we switch subjects half a dozen times within the course of a couple minutes. Listeners, by the way, help with that. Listen to this array of topics!
I was watching Netflix. It was a movie with a continuous musical soundtrack (no, not porn) and I heard a thump which I assumed was part of the program. My wife, who worked nights and was in bed, came out and say, "didn't you hear the thump? The basketball hoop tipped over."
What a great day with Todd and the guys at Stratham Tire in Augusta and their customer appreciation day, complete with a car show, Red Sox and Larry the Cable Guy ticket giveaways and amazing magic from Kracker Jack Magic!
