Over the last few years, we've heard a lot of stories about a lack of available service industry workers.  In fact, there have been several stories of Maine restaurants (primarily on the coast and in Portland) having to close due to a lack of qualified workers.

According to the KJ, a grant from Maine Quality Centers, a program of the Maine Community College System, aims to correct that problem.

The $44,000 grant will let 125 students in apprenticeship programs at Maine community colleges take online courses for free from a program done by Washington County Community College and Hospitality Maine.
