A rainy day is expected today with some significant rain for the area according to WGME.

Maine starts the day with 611 active cases of COVID-19. 4,998 of the 5,752 cases recovered. There have been 143 deaths according to WABI.

Maine maintains one of the lowest CV-19 infection and death rates in the United States from coronavirus according to centralmaine.com.

Maine based Puritan Medical will be opening a third plant to make the swabs for CV-19 testing according to US News.  The only other company making the swabs is in Italy.

Maine is now headed into part one of Phase 4 of the reopening from COVID-19 according to WGME, part two comes November 2nd.

Due to some ‘unexplained illnesses,’ a CV-19 vaccine trial has been halted according to WABI.

Some students at Bates College in Lewiston have been sent home for not following the CV-19 rules according to centralmaine.com. They are doing their classwork remotely.

Gas prices are holding steady at $2.17 a gallon in Maine; three cents lower than a month ago but 35 cents less than a year ago according to WABI.
