I was raised in a colonial and because of that, I have always wanted to buy one of my own some day. There is something that is just so comforting to me about the shape and size of colonial style homes that fit me perfectly. I do currently live in an older cape home, however one day, I will be back in a colonial of my own.

As I was daydreaming on Realtor.com, I came across my dream home! Right here in Maine! It is a pale yellow colonial, located at 124 Buxton Road in Saco, Maine.

With 4 beds, 4.5 baths and almost 5,000 square feet, this beauty is for sale for only $799,000. I guess I should start saving my pennies now.

That's the only problem, colonials are not cheap. The home was built in 1979 and obviously given updates.

It sits on just under a acre of land and has floral gardens and Maine blueberries. The best thing about colonials is that the natural light spills in and fills the space during the day.

I mean, c'mon, look at this dining room! The wallpaper makes me want to melt directly into it.

Another gem in this house is that there is a legal apartment connected to the main house which would give you the ability to make some extra money for this hefty mortgage.

This home is a sanctuary as the description states,

Cathedral ceilings, new flooring, new vanity, designer lighting, expansive property views off the back deck... make this tranquil spot full of charm& character for someone who may occupy this space.
