UPDATE

We now know that the US Coast Guard is searching for a missing 64-year-old man off the Maine coast. Officials say that they had received reports Thursday evening about a small skiff that was past due to return.

That vessel, which the 64-year-old was on, had left from the Turbats Creek boat ramp on Thursday morning in Kennebunkport as it was headed out to pull lobster traps. Currently, the Coast Guard is still searching for the vessel.

The US Coast Guard has been searching the waters off the Maine coast all night long, though we're not exactly sure why.

According to WGME 13, the Coast Guard has been searching off the coast of Kennebunkport, Maine coast since late last night. WGME says they used Flight Radar 24 to confirm that there was in fact a Coast Guard helicopter that was searching from Kennebunk Beach all the way up to Cape Porpoise last night.

WGME indicates that they have since reached out to the US Coast Guard for more information, however those requests have not been answered. What we DO know is that a spokesperson for the Coast Guard has said there will be more information available to the public later in the morning on Friday.

This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available.
