We all know how skunks smell, but have you ever heard them...scream?

New England has some fascinating and fun wildlife, and thanks to trail cameras, we can now get a close-up view of some of these animals as they roam around our yards and woods.

One New Hampshire woman's trail cam captured a pair of skunks having a wrestling match that could've come straight out of WWE.

In the video, which was shared to the u local New Hampshire Facebook group in 2023, the two squabbling skunks tussle and roll around in the snow, before eventually running off-camera.

Presuming neither of them got injured, it's honestly kind of cute to see the little guys (or girls) tumbling around.

But what makes this video especially interesting isn't the visual footage, but the audio.

These skunks are letting out persistent, high-pitched screams at the top of their lungs, which continue even once the pair are off-camera. We don't know about you, but we've never stopped to think about what skunks sound like in general, much less when they're agitated.

You can hear for yourself by watching the video here, but be sure to turn your volume down first, cause these critters are loud.

According to the Smithsonian, the footage was captured during skunk mating season, so maybe this confrontation was some strange lover's quarrel. Either way, it's always interesting to see how animals act when we humans aren't around.

Speaking of animals, did you know these 30 creatures are endangered in New Hampshire?
