Water Street in Augusta Will Soon Be a Two-Way Street
Everyone in Central Maine either is someone or knows someone who has accidentally turned left from Bridge Street onto Water Street in downtown Augusta.
The days of that happening in the future are numbered.
The City of Augusta recently announced that soon Water Street will change to a two-way street with a new traffic pattern being introduced at the intersection of Bridge Street and Water Street:

In addition to converting from a one-way road to a two-way road, Water Street will also be getting an upgrade to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, new trees, street light upgrades and more.
