This Augusta, Maine Children’s Dentist’s Office Was The Best Experience Ever!

Have you ever had such a great experience at a local business that you just want to shout it from the rooftops? Well, that's how I'm feeling this morning after our very first visit to Wee Care Pediatric Dentistry in Augusta, Maine.

Located inside the former Tea House Chinese Restaurant next to Charlie's Motor Mall, Wee Care specializes in all things pediatrics including routine cleaning, crowns, fillings extractions and more.

But, how did we end up there?

Our three sons all go to Gagnon Dental in Farmingdale for their routine cleanings. However, when an issue was discovered with one of our youngest son's (Dawson) teeth, they referred us to Wee Care.

Dawson, who is now 4, smacked is dome off the coffee table when he was about 1.5 years old. A couple of weeks ago at his routine dental appointment, the dentist noticed a small abscess above the tooth that he had hit. They recommended just having the tooth pulled to prevent any interference with the adult tooth, so they referred us to Wee Care.

Yesterday was our first appointment with them and was just a consultation. As soon as you walk in there are toys and TVs everywhere to keep your littles busy and to make them feel more 'at home'.

Once we got into the room with the wonderful staff, the dentist gave us a couple possible courses of action, but ultimately recommended we have the tooth pulled. Fortunately for us, Dawson is our 'go with the flow' and 'isn't bothered by anything' child, so hearing all of this didn't bother him a bit.

While we were talking about scheduling a date to come back for the extraction, the dentist suggested that since we were the last appointment of the day they could just do it right now.

We decided to go for it after asking Dawson if he wanted his tooth out today. He responded with a nonchalant 'yup'.

We went over to the next room and had Daws lay down on the chair. Conveniently there was even a TV on the ceiling so he could keep watching his show during the procedure!

They gave him some giggle gas, a little Novacaine and popped that tooth right out! He never winced, he never flinched, he never even cried. From the moment the Dentist said 'we could do it today if you want' to the moment the tooth was out must have been less than 5 minutes.

All in all, it was crazy how amazing this team of professionals was at catering to our small child. I know it's their job and their specialty, but to see it in action, especially with a couple of anxious parents, was really something else.

So shoutout to Gagnon Dental for the referral and shoutout to Wee Care for the absolute best comfort and care we could have asked for. I would recommend both offices to everyone!
