Two pro marijuana groups are submitting proposals to get marijuana legalized in Maine for recreational use and the question could be on the ballot in November 2016.

The two groups are, 'The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol and it's an effort of the Washington, D.C.-based Marijuana Policy Project' and 'Legalize Maine'.

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol and it's an effort of the Washington, D.C.-based Marijuana Policy Project's proposal has already been submitted to the state and if approved, the group will need 61,123 signatures to get the question on the ballot.

The proposal says, marijuana will only be legal for adults 21 or older. For those of age, it would only be legal to posses up to one ounce of marijuana and grow up to six plants at home. It also calls for "tightly regulated" rules for growing, testing, transportation and sale.

As for Legalize Maine, they're just getting there push underway and will have a petition as well.

What do you think? Should recreational marijuana be legal in Maine? We would love your thoughts on this subject. Comment on the Moose Facebook fanpage.
