Why Now Is The Perfect Time To Vacation On Maine’s Coast
Even though Governor Janet Mills’ administration is looking into an alternative, currently all non-Mainers must go through a 14 day long quarantine when entering the state. Not surprisingly, this has caused a considerable economic hardship for those who make their money off the state’s tourist industry.
Particularly hard hit are the proprietors of lodging businesses. The men, women, and families who own hotels, motels, resorts, and campgrounds have seen a massive decline in the number of bookings for the summer of 2020.
According to WCSH 6, at least one of Maine’s seaside resorts had to deal with over 1,000 cancellations.
What can you do to help? You can support these hotels and resorts by taking an in-state vacation. it's the perfect opportunity for you and that special someone to visit that seaside resort that you've always wanted to stay at, but always thought was a little too pricey.
Many Maine resorts and hotels are offering special deals for first responders, Maine residents, and on suites. You could save as much as 40%.
These prices came (primarily) from Expedia,. You could also reach out directly to hotels you'd like to stay at because it is possible they'll have even better deals.
