Dollar Tree is Buying Family Dollar – Do You Shop at Either?

Dollar Tree is buying Family Dollar to better compete with Walmart and Dollar General at a cost of 8.5 billion dollars.

Honestly we do shop at Dollar Tree for a few things, mostly party supplies as there is no party store in Lewiston Auburn at least that we know of. Mylar balloons, streamers, cards although Lynn bought nail polish remover and a couple of puzzles for Vikki just the other day.

We rarely if ever shop at Family Dollar because we’re about unit price and being a family of five we need bulk sizes and we’ve always found Family Dollar all about smaller sizing and pricing that’s the same as Walmart or the grocery store. Almost like how a convenience store prices items.

Maybe that’s why Family Dollar has been struggling.
