It's not a joke... according to local meteorologists, southern Maine could find itself under another pile of snow, 11 days after the official start of spring.

Forecasters are calling for as many as 14 inches of snow to fall in parts of Maine and southern New Hampshire, with most communities looking at anywhere from 5-10 inches. The timing of this late season storm will be from Friday afternoon into Saturday morning, so keep up to date with weather info if you have weekend plans.

Our friends at Channel 6, meteorologists Keith Carson & TJ Thunder put their heads together and came up with this estimate this afternoon, but like all things weather-related here in Maine, it might change.

Channel 13 chief meteorologist Charlie Lopresti agrees with the timing, but hasn't called amounts yet.

And before you even ask... we already checked this out. It's not a joke! #RealNews
