The Lewiston-Auburn area had 596 reported cases of sexually transmitted diseases per 100,000 people. That ranks the area as the highest percentage of STDs among Maine's metro areas. This is according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report for 2013.

The Augusta/Waterville area had 308 STD cases reported. Bangor 467.

According to Rentapplication.com, the data includes cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis reported to the CDC.

The highest rate in the country was Montgomery, AL, with 1899.20 cases per 100,000 people.
