I’ve given my kids a lot of good memories, I hope. One thing left I really want to do with them before they get too much older is take them on the Downeaster.

The Downeaster rail service which runs from Maine to Boston is doing quite well, ridership is up 5% over the this time last year. So far over 250,000 riders so far this fiscal year, which is from October 2012 through March 2013.

Ridership looks to be up through the country on Amtrak. The prices aren’t that bad either. Portland to Boston return is about $40. Maybe this summer during a weekend we’ll take it.
