32-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck by Town of Winslow Plow Truck
A 32-year-old Winslow man wasn't seriously injured after being struck by one of the town's plow trucks on Friday evening.
According to the Kennebec Journal, the incident happened Friday evening while Winslow road crews were out sanding the roadways. Reports indicate that the plow truck, being driven by 61-year-old, Lee Shuckrow, was operating in the area of Benton Avenue, over near the Marden's salvage warehouse.
It was at this time that the pedestrian, 32-year-old, Joshua Carpenter, also of Winslow, was attempting to walk across Benton Ave. While he attempted to walk across the road, the plow truck was backing up and that's when Carpenter was struck. Carpenter was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
It was unclear whether or not the pedestrian went to the hospital to be treated for any possible injuries.
