4 New Augusta Restaurants That You May Not Have Tried Yet
2017 has been a good year for Central Maine foodies. We've been fortunate to have several great restaurants open in our area over the last 12 months. Let's take a look at 4 new offerings in Augusta
Kume Modern Japanese Steakhouse - In January, Kume opened at the Marketplace At Augusta. They offer the full hibachi experience - complete with the chef flicking food into your mouth. And, if hibachi is not your thing, you can eat from the full menu in the dining room. Additionally, the have an amazing sushi menu and phenomenal cocktails. They even have private dining rooms for parties and meetings.
Antigoni's Pizza - Opening their Augusta location (on Bangor Street) in early summer, they feature pizza, pasta, subs, salads, and more. Basically, the same menu as the Lewiston location. One of the coolest features of the Augusta location, and very appealing as we enter the winter months, is the drive-thru window. All you have to do is call in your order and drive through to pick it up.
Otto's On The River - From the same owners as Aunt Gin's, Otto's On The River opened in November. They feature an intimate dining room with amazing food: beef wellington, filet mignon, pork osso bucco, and seared duck breast. It's the perfect place to celebrate that special occasion, or to take that certain person you really want to impress. Find them on Water Street in downtown Augusta.
Cushnoc Brewing Company - After a long wait (for me, at least) Cushnoc opened in early fall. In addition to their great, and ever-changing, lineup of beers, they have great wood fired pizza. One of the coolest things about Cushnoc is how they have embraced Augusta, the Kennebec River, and Central Maine: pizza names, beers names, and slogans. Find Cushnoc Brewing Company on Water Street in downtown Augusta.
