According to News Center Maine, police were called to the Cliff House resort over the weekend to investigate a report of a stolen exotic car.

When police arrived at the resort, they were told that the vehicle that was taken was a 2021 CP 812GT made by Ferrari. Police were also told that the vehicle had last been seen the night before in the parking lot in the front of the resort. The car had been last seen by a resort security guard.

A release from the York Police said in part,

"The vehicle owner had parked the Ferrari in front where it stayed until it went missing. The vehicle owner gave the keys to the valet to store in the valet office until morning."

After responding to the stolen vehicle report, officials were then dispatched to reports of a vehicle that was off the road on US Route 1. When police arrived on the scene, there was the missing Ferrari crashed at the intersection of Mountain Road. Police then determined it was clear the vehicle had been stolen from the Cliff House the night prior.

The vehicle was then impounded for evidence and the owner of the vehicle was notified about its location and condition. The estimated value of the Ferrari is $400,000.00.

Police are now asking for the public's help in figuring out who may have taken the vehicle, and what may have led to the crash on Route 1. If anyone has any information or saw anything, they can contact Detective Sargent, Thomas Cryan at the York PD by calling 207.363.4444.

It's being reported that a $1000.00 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
