Her name is Rita Losee, and she just completed her winter 'hike for health', completing 400 miles of hiking.

According to WABI TV 5, Rita wants this to be an example to people of how to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Her mission was both to remain healthy while also doing some good for the world around her. Losee says that it's impossible for people to live a healthy lifestyle if they don't have access to good, nutritious food. That's why she's hiking for the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Though Losee has just completed her 400th mile, she still hasn't reached her goal of $50,000 for the food bank, so she's asking for your help. If you're able and so inclined, Rita would absolutely love it if you could spare a small (or big!) donation to the Good Shepherd Food Bank by clicking this link.

In talking about her $50,000 goal Losee told WABI, ”I don’t think we need to put an end date for that goal, let’s just keep raising money for Good Shepherd Food Bank because everybody in the state of Maine benefits if the people in the state of Maine have enough food."
